The Wedding Smith, Wedding Ceremonies

Congratulations, you're getting married, how exciting!  Once you have set the date, booked a venue, the next step is to find a celebrant like me who will help you to create a ceremony that is all your own.

Let The Wedding Smith guide you!

Obligation Free Meeting

When choosing a celebrant, there has to be a rapport between the celebrant and couple, trust and understanding. During our first chat we will discuss my availability and fees and if you are happy to go ahead, we will arrange to meet in person.

There is no pressure to choose me as your celebrant at this meeting.  However, if you decide that you would like to have me conduct your ceremony, you will need to provide the required ID (listed below) and we can get the ball rolling.

Required ID:

To complete your Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) I need to be provided with;

- evidence of your date and place of birth (birth certificate or passport)

- photo identification (drivers licence or passport)

- proof of cessation of previous marriage (divorce certificate)

Please note you are required to complete the NOIM at least one month prior to your wedding date.

Planning

I will provide you with examples of ceremonies, readings, symbols and other resources to assist you in deciding what you may like to include in your own ceremony.  I will also provide you with a questionnaire which will help me to write your ceremony and story.

I will write a draft which will be emailed to you for revision and input.  There is no limit as to how many changes can be made to your ceremony, I want it to be perfect for you.

I am available via telephone and email at all times when planning your ceremony.

One week prior to your wedding day

The ceremony is completed and agreed upon.

Ideally a wedding rehearsal will take place with the key members of your wedding party at the venue.  The rehearsal normally takes place on the night before your wedding, however it can be at another time suitable to yourselves and the venue.  If a rehearsal is not taking place we will need to meet prior to the wedding day to finalise the paperwork.

The Big Day

I will arrive at the venue at least one hour prior to the ceremony to set up equipment and paperwork, talk with the wedding party, parents and guests and meet those involved in the ceremony to ensure they are comfortable with their positioning and cues, ensure the Best man has the rings, liaise with the venue and look forward to seeing those walking down the aisle.

I will then perform your wedding ceremony and present you with a commemorative Certificate of Marriage.

Finally

I will submit all required paperwork to Births, Deaths and Marriages, follow up with you for your feedback and ask permission for you to supply any testimonial and photographs for use on my social media sites and website.

You can then apply for your official Marriage Certificate from Births Deaths and Marriages.
